March in the Wood River Valley usually means skiing Limelight top to bottom in full sunshine and seeking corn snow where possible.. Let's cross our fingers for some much needed powder days this month! If the snow doesn't fall the skiing is still terrific on Baldy and the Nordic trails. Below find some valley news, real estate updates and happenings this month. We have also included the February Market Snapshot and the Idaho Gardner Report to keep you updated on the Real Estate market in Idaho.

In Hailey Blaine County Housing Authority and ARCH Community housing have drafted an ordinace aimed at providing houseing for low to medium income and full time residents. Read the full story HERE.

Meanwhile in Ketchum the city is considering enacting an emergency interim ordinance to change development regulations for the downtown core to promote vitality and higher-density housing that could serve full-time residents. Full story HERE.

Did you know that we have many options of skiing right outside the Wood River Valley? Looking to ski somewhere different? Check out the following spots-
 
SOLDIER MOUNTAIN- just outside of Fairfield you will find this hidden gem of a mountain that offers Cat skiing and side country.

POMERELLE MOUNTAIN RESORT- is a mom & pop resort outside of Burley (which is outside of Twin) which is about as Idaho skiing as it gets!
 
MAGIC MOUNTAIN RESORT- is another family resort south of Pomerelle. Besides skiing is also have cross country trails and a tubing hill.
 
PEBBLE CREEK- just out side of Pocatello and can accomidate all skier abilities. They have greens to double black runs!
 
More of a cross country skier? 
 
SAWTOOTH SKI CLUB- grooming is done on both the trails to Altruas Lake and Park Creek trails in Stanley. 
 
CRATERS OF THE MOON- While the online info is scarce we do know they groom the road to skate and class here. It is stunning!

Another newish business that we are are excited to have in town is the Sun Valley Culinary Institue. Almost 2 years old now, this non-profit offers a host of cooking classes that include dinner. YUM!
