Welcome to our last newsletter of 2021! As we wrap up the year we are very thankful for our families and friends who supported us over the past year. What are your New Years Plans?

 

Winter nom nom

Whether you are braving the elements is in the great outdoors or cozying up by the fire with a book there is plenty to do for New Years Eve. If you plan to go out to dinner we suggest making a reservation ASAP. Some fun ideas to welcome in 2022 are hiking up Baldy (see story next door for new policies at SV), Snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, sledding, renting snowmobiles in Smiley Creek, host a dinner party with close friends or go to a movie. 

 

New Baldy Uphill Traffic Policy

Over the past few years the uphill traffic on Baldy has dramatically increased. This is a wonderful resource we have and Sun Valley Co has revised the up hill policy to ensure safety of hikers and mountain employees. The routes have changed slightly and the hours shifted to 5-8am and 5-8pm. All the details are HERE.

Tis the season to give.

 We have a ton of local charities here in the Valley. This is the season to give and you can find plenty of options for donating HERE. 

 

Early sunsets and colder temps (and eventually snow) get us in the mood for cooking some delightful holiday eats. Rachel's family has a long standing fondue tradition over the holidays (which also include Cody's birthday). Nicole usually makes this beet tart appetizer to impress at a holiday party. Something about the golden beets, creamy cheese and puff pastry just reminds us of winter.

Dec 3-4th- Sun Valley Suns Hockey games start. Full schedule HERE
Dec 4th- Ski free on all BCRD Trails and Learn to ski for FREE at Galena Lodge. Check out details HERE
Dec 4-5th- Papoose Club Holiday Bazaar at Hemingway Elementary
Dec 11-12th- Open Air Holiday Market at Sun Valley on the Duck Pond Lawn 
Dec 11th- Tree lighting ceremony at Sun Valley
Dec 17th- Classic Christmas Concert at Sun Valley
Dec 18-Jan 8th- Rotarun is running special holiday hours (YAY) and will be open Tues, Thurs & Sat. HERE
Dec 24th- Christmas Ice Show and Torch Light Parade in Sun Valley
